The Highlands NC community counts birds December 18. This annual winter event is a fun way for bird lovers to come together to help feed a national database. This important event helps keep on top of numbers, species, migration patterns, and more. Whether you participate every year or are looking forward to learning more about the birds in the Highlands area, come take part in this fun community event.
The Christmas Bird Count will take place on Friday, December 18. If you are interested meet the group at the Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park at 7:30 am. Do not be intimidated if you have no experience. Binoculars and guidance will be provided. The count will be followed by a chili lunch. Click here for more information.
