Highlands NC celebrates food later this month during a special weekend at the Old Edwards Inn. Root Bound is a weekend designed to savor Appalachian food and music. This fun event will bring together old friends and new, a great way to connect over food and enjoy great music too. The weekend starts on Friday February 24 and goes through Sunday, February 26. This is a great opportunity to spend the weekend in one of the most iconic locations in the Highlands area, the Old Edwards Inn and Spa.

What can you expect from Root Bound? Complete immersion in the Appalachian culture, a great opportunity to learn more about the history of our area and all that it has to offer. The eventful weekend will feature a live concert by bluegrass legend Darrell Scott and fun dining events including a multi-chef dinner at The Farm and a Bluegrass Gospel Brunch. There will be many celebrated guest chefs of Appalachia on hand to offer their specialties. In addition there will be edutainment/learning sessions that will include cooking classes.
