Don’t miss the annual Highlands NC Christmas Parade taking place this Saturday, December 2. An annual event that is treasured by the community, the Highlands’ Olde Mountain Christmas Parade is truly an experience. In fact, this is a cornerstone of the community and a reflection of what life on the Plateau is all about. Expect to see homemade floats, a marching band, and Santa Claus. Downtown Highlands NC will be alive with the holiday spirit this weekend.
Arrive early to get a good spot
The parade is slated to start at 10:0 am and those wanting to get a prime viewing spot should definitely set up camp well ahead of time. Bring a chair or be prepared to stand to enjoy this unique local parade. Local civic groups, non-profits, churches, businesses, fire departments, and many more integral members of the Highlands NC community will be showing off their holiday spirit. Additionally, participants in the parade will be tossing candy to the crowd.

The Christmas parade has been taking place in Highlands NC for more than 40 years. This year there will be more than 60 participants demonstrating the sense of community and camaraderie that pervades our mountain town.
