A little about me

Having spent 20 years involved in the medical field as a respiratory therapist and owner of a successful respiratory equipment company, Mitzi sold her business in 2007. Armed with a lifetime affection for small town charm, she went off in search of her dream destination. And, as a result of many weekend visits to Highlands along with her husband Hammond, who is the co-owner of Franklin Ford in Franklin, they eventually bought their permanent home in Highlands Country Club.

In the years following their move, while enjoying the wonderful restaurants, arts, plays and social environment of Highlands, they have also become deeply involved in all aspects of this small community…participating, donating and serving in leadership capacities for numerous civic and charitable organizations.

Prior to moving to Highlands, utilizing her talent for decorating and design, Mitzi and Hammond have shared their passion for buying and renovating older homes in several southern communities including Charleston, SC and Gainesville, GA. Mitzi’s experience in sales, marketing and attention to customer service coupled with her extensive knowledge and enthusiasm for real estate investing, restoration and décor made her move into full-time real estate sales a natural. Mitzi did an exhaustive search for the real estate firm that was the best fit for her and she loves being a part of the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Meadows Mountain Realty team!

In 2018, Judy Michaud and Mitzi Rauers formed the Michaud/Rauers Group to be an elite real estate team within the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices brand.   Consisting of Judy Michaud, Mitzi Rauers, Tom Goldacker, and John Muir, The Michaud/Rauers Group has been ranked in the top 1/2 of 1% of all BHHS brokers nationwide for the past several years.  Additionally, this team was the #5 small team in the state of NC in 2021 among all brokerages.
