Cashiers NC News in the Arts

Cashiers North Carolina both attracts and cultivates the arts, with some noteworthy artists of sculpture and the written word in the news this month.  A local Cashiers artist, Wesley Wofford, will have his work appear in the 76th Annual Awards Exhibition at The National Sculpture Society’s headquarters located in New York City.  Out of 250 artists who applied to compete, Wofford was one of 41 members to have his work selected for the show.  See his work for yourself at Wofford’s website:

Also notable is a special course to run from March to April at Southwestern Community College in Cashiers featuring the vastly talented Gary Carden.  Carden is renowned as an author, playwright, and Appalachian storyteller.  There will be two courses available with a cost of $70 each.  For registration details visit
