Fridays mean music in Highlands NC. Friday Night Live is an annual series of free concerts on Main Street, bringing residents and visitors alike outside to enjoy sweet sounds in downtown Highlands NC. Live music takes place in Town Square and tonight, June 15th, is the first concert of the summer series. Mountain Hoo Doo will play original songs, bluegrass, and old mountain ballads.

- June 15: Mountain Hoo Doo (bluegrass, mountain ballads, and original songs)
- June 22: Johnny Webb (country music)
- June 29: The Blue Ridge Music Band (original bluegrass and old-fashioned gospel)
This summer marks the third year for the Friday Night Live series in Highlands NC, quickly becoming a favorite highlight of the season. The concerts are from 6 to 8 pm each Friday and the series will run through August 31st. The shops in Highlands NC have extended hours for these special evenings as well. This is a wonderful opportunity for everyone in Highlands NC to get out and mingle with old friends as well as to make new friends.
