Here in Highlands NC 4th of July activities abound. From the Rotary Club’s annual BBQ to the fireworks there is something to keep you entertained all day long as we celebrate Independence Day. If you like to have fun and you like to be entertained Highlands North Carolina is the place to be this week.
The 4th of July Fun in Highlands will kick off at 9:30 am at the Baseball Field. The day starts with games and the Rotary Club of Highlands will serve its annual cookout from 11:00am to 1:00pm. The Rotary Club will also sponsor its annual Rubber Ducky Derby in Mill Creek. Kids will love the visit from the MAMA helicopter that is planned, and the day will end with fireworks that will be sponsored by The Chamber of Commerce, lighting the skies above downtown Highlands starting at 9:15 pm.
Of course there are other things going on around Highlands this Thursday as well. There will be a Patriotic Concert held at the First Presbyterian Church at 8 pm. The concert is free and will last about 45 minutes. The Highlands United Methodist Church will also be holding a concert, this one of the handbell variety. The Handbell Concert of Patriotic Music will take place at the church at 3 pm.
These are but a few of the activities that will take place in Highlands this Thursday.
