Highlands NC Community Enjoys Lecture Series

The Highlands NC community enjoys a lecture series throughout the summer.  The Highlands Biological Foundation’s annual Zahner Conservation Lecture Series is a highlight of the summer for many, featuring talks that cover wildflowers, salamanders, wetlands and more.  These weekly talks allow us to delve a little deeper into the natural wonders that surround us here in the Highlands area.

This Thursday, August 27, the talk will be led by Dr. Ed Pivorun of Clemson University.  His lecture, titled “Though Small, We Pack Quite a Wallop: The Saga of Small Mammals and the Environment” is designed to teach us about the role of small mammals in our fields, forests, and wetlands. If you are in town this week and want to enjoy learning more about our environment and the critters that live here get over to the Highlands Nature Center at 6:30 pm.
