The annual Highlands NC fly fishing festival, Three River Fly Fishing Festival, returns April 25 through 27. Our stunning mountain community is known for exceptional fishing. And this month brings local and visiting fly fishing enthusiasts to celebrate the our rivers and streams. This is the 9th year for the Three River Fly Fishing Festival, a treasured event for the Highlands NC community.
The Three River Fly Fishing Festival festival is a highlight for fishing enthusiasts of all ability levels. This unique fishing competition involves teams fishing on over 2,200 miles of public water. Ulitmately, the challenge for each team includes fishing for one native, one hatchery-supported, and one delayed-harvest stream fish. There is an opening reception and of course plenty of prizes!
