It’s hard to believe but winter is here in Highlands NC with ice skating open for the season!
Managed by Highlands Parks and Recreation, Ice Skating in the Park opens today, November 21 and will be operating through March. Ice skating is a favorite activity for locals and visitors alike, creating a lifetime of memories for families and friends on the Highlands Plateau!
Winter 2024-2025 Schedule
- Thursday – 3:30-8 pm
- Friday – 3:30-10 pm
- Saturday – 1-10 pm
- Sunday 1-5 pm
Holiday information:
- Closed Thursday, November 28 Thanksgiving Day.
Christmas Break Schedule
- Open – Monday, December 23 from 1-8 pm and Tuesday, December 24 from 1-5 pm
- Closed – Wednesday, December 25
- Open – Thursday, December 26 from 1-8 pm and Friday, December 27, and Saturday, December 28, 1-10 pm, Sunday, December 29 from 1-5 pm, Monday, December 30 from 1-8 pm and Tuesday, December 31 from 1 pm-1 am, Wednesday, January 1 from 1-8 pm and back to normal schedule on Thursday, January 2.
Other details
- Cost: $8.00 (with or without skates) Rental skates available (youth size 8 to adult size 14)
- Coffee and Hot Chocolate are available for sale.
- Private parties can be scheduled on Mondays and Tuesday that are not open to the public from 6-8pm but must be booked two weeks in advance. Please schedule through Lester Norris, Highlands Parks & Recreation Department, 828-526-3556.
