Highlands NC Motoring Festival this week!  Don’t miss it!  This fun weekend is a hit for car enthusiasts, whether they have a car in the festival or simply want to look at cars.  The Highlands Motoring Festival taking place this weekend, June 7-10, is expected to be the biggest and best yet.  The Highlands NC community looks forward to this fun event all year long.  In addition, the festival draws people from near and far – all here to enjoy the mountains and the cars.

Every year the Highlands Motoring Festival features a special interest class of the year. This year the special interest class is Vintage Race Cars.  The organizers have noted that the first entry accepted into this class is a 1972 BMW CSL Group 2 factory racer which won its class at Lemans in 1973.

What else can you expect to see at the Highlands Motoring Festival?

The event kicks off on the evening of Thursday, June 7, with the Monte Carlo Casino Night from 6 to 9 pm. at Highlands Falls Country Club. Friday, June 8, the treasured drive, One Lap of the Mountains, takes place for registered participants.  The main event for onlookers, Cars in the Park, takes place on Saturday, June 9, from 10 am to 4 pm, at Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park.  Click here to find the full scheduled and find out which piece of the weekend suits your weekend’s schedule.
