The Plein Air Festival in Cashiers NC July 17 through 21 is a summer favorite!  This summer marks the Fifth Biennial Cashiers Plein Air Festival. The festival features nationally acclaimed painters from around the nation and is both an art competition and a sale.  This spectacular event is a treasure for the entire Highlands/Cashiers NC area.

More that 20 artists have been invited to participate in the Cashiers Plein Air Festival.  Plein Air painting is when artists set up easels outside in the fresh air and paint the scenery in front of them.  When it comes to painting in the open air there is no more beautiful and inspiring location than the Cashiers NC area.

Enthusiasts of the Plein Air style can gain access to a variety of events by purchasing a Palette Pass.  The Palette Pass includes access to all artist demonstrations under the festival grand tent and the Collector’s Preview Reception in the Festival Gallery on July 18.
