Winter in Highlands NC includes ice skating fun. Whether we have snow or not, it is winter in the mountains. And, along with winter comes a slew of seasonal activities. One of our favorites is ice skating. Offering fun for all ages, ice skating is an activity for all to enjoy. This is a great opportunity to enjoy fresh mountain air while making memories that will last a lifetime.
Outside magic on the ice
The outdoor ice rink is located at Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park in Highlands NC. Ice skating opened for the season on November 20th and has been putting smiles on the faces of residents and visitors ever since. The rink is an annual treasure, enjoyed by all ability levels and ages. The rink is open Thursday through Sunday.
Winter 2023-2024 Schedule
Thursday 3:30-8:00 pm
Friday 3:30-10:00 pm
Saturday 1:00-10:00 pm
Sunday 1:00-5:00 pm
Skate Rentals: Ice skates can be rented at the rink.
Cost: $5, whether you bring your own skates or rent them.
Additionally: coffee and hot cocoa are available
